Health Data Policy

1. Scope

This policy describes how Pumpeat accesses your health data through Apple Health (HealthKit) on iPhone and Health Connect on Android, and supplements our general privacy policy.

Access to this data is strictly optional (opt-in): it is only enabled if you authorize it, during sign-up or from Settings → Health data, and can be revoked at any time.

2. Data we read

With your permission, Pumpeat reads the following data:

• Weight and height — to pre-fill and keep your profile up to date.
• Date of birth and biological sex (iPhone only) — to calculate your calorie needs.
• Steps and active energy — to estimate your activity level and adjust your calorie goals.
• Heart rate — to enrich your workout tracking.
• Resting heart rate and heart-rate variability — for the Health & wellbeing page.
• Sleep (duration and, on iPhone, sleep stages) — for the Health & wellbeing page.

3. Data we write

With your permission, Pumpeat may write to Apple Health / Health Connect:

• Your completed workouts (duration, energy burned).
• Your weight when you edit it in the app.
• Your nutrition (calories, macronutrients) and hydration.

These writes let you find your Pumpeat activity within your health ecosystem (Apple Fitness rings, Google Fit).

4. Purposes

Your health data is used solely to personalize your in-app experience: calorie-needs calculation, fitness and nutrition tracking, and synchronization with your health app.

It is never used for advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Sharing

Your health data is never sold or shared with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.

The data required to compute your goals (weight, height, age, sex, activity level) is stored on your Pumpeat profile to provide the service. Raw activity data (steps, heart rate) stays on your device and is not sent to our servers unless explicitly required for a feature.

6. Retention and withdrawal

You can revoke access at any time from Settings → Health data (disconnect), which immediately stops all reading and writing by the app.

To fully revoke permissions at the system level, use the Health app (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android).

Values already saved to your profile (weight, height, etc.) follow the retention period described in our general privacy policy and can be deleted by deleting your account.
